Life this term in Hampshire Class

We began our term by exploring the local area and getting to know one another. Pegwell Bay Nature Reserve quickly became a favourite for the staff and pupils.  Our visits included exploring the park, its wildlife, including seal spotting, appreciating the nature around us, and even enjoying lunch at the park. I know we will be visiting again soon.  Photographs below were taken by Pickle.

Within the classroom, the children have been learning new skills in maths. Of course, the Smarties hands on data challenge was a success. Internet safety, designing our lunch menu for term 4 and comprehension are just a few of the topics covered this term. Table tennis, football, volleyball, and basketball have been played and new skills taught.   Some pupils participated in Inclusive Sports afternoons, where other schools all took part in Curling and Boccia.

During our Discovery lessons we have become competitive playing Uno, Draughts, and a new class favourite Rummikub. Our social skills with each other are improving and we are learning how to get along and accept that we will not always win.

Chinese New Year was celebrated with a variety of learning, and we participated in a tasting afternoon. Asher, one of Hampshire Class pupils, explained he does not try new foods. During the afternoon, Asher tried every food item on offer. This included noodles, rice, seaweed, various fruits, and a lychee drink. Much to his surprise he enjoyed seaweed when no-one else did.

An amazing term for us all.
