Our New ASC Teacher - Mrs O'Connor

Life Skills Manor are very pleased to announce the employment of an experienced ASC teacher starting in January 2022 for our first cohort of pupils. Mrs O'Connor has gained an outstanding reputation within specialist schools for her teaching of children with autism.

Mrs O'Connor says,

"I am ready for new challenges and believe Life Skills Manor would provide this. Teaching children diagnosed with autism has proven to be one of the most rewarding parts within my educational career so far. Recognising all children are unique, and what defines one child may not define another allows each child, with time, to shine. Providing a classroom were repetition and routine are at the heart has helped reduce stress whilst allowing growth.

"Witnessing the growth first-hand is one of the most satisfying moments a teacher can have. I feel passionately that all children, regardless of background, have an equal opportunity to learn and fulfil their potential. Fostering good relationships with the children and the parents/carers is key."

We welcome Mrs O'Connor to our team and believe that she will be instrumental in our journey to become an outstanding provision for our children, parents and local community.
