Pizza Making Workshop, Sandwich

As part of developing core functional and practical life skills a small group of eight students were taken by Farrah, Lucy and Harry on a fun and educational trip to access a local pizzeria in Sandwich for a live pizza making workshop and the chance to make their own pizza for lunch.

They had the opportunity to learn from professionals, getting a behind the scenes hands on experience with the head pizza chef who took time to explain the process of making the dough, how they select high quality authentic Italian ingredients, and the timings required to bake the pizzas in the traditional wood-fired oven.

We liked how the students could utilise key skills they have been learning about as part of their wheel of independence sessions under meal prep, leisure and money management.

Behaviour shown throughout was remarkable and the team hope they all have made great memories alongside developing and learning new skills.
